Temple Baptist Church seeks to be a community where all people can grow spiritually and share the love of Jesus through word and deed.  Adults of all ages can find opportunities to study the Bible, serve in the community, or be a missionary to the world.  Temple Baptist Church is also a community where you can find love and encouragement that reveals the presence of the living Christ in our lives.

If you are looking for a gateway into any of these types of opportunities, consider the following:

Visit a Sunday School class

There are a wide variety of Sunday School classes that span the generations.  While many people think of Sunday School as a place for Bible study, our Sunday School classes also provide an intimate community of fellowship, support and prayer for individuals and families in their times of need and times of joy.

Become a part of a Deacon Ministry Team

Our deacons are called by the church to serve the needs of our congregation.  They answer this call by partnering with our congregation to minister to all.  Our Deacon Ministry Teams provide opportunities such as visiting with folks in the hospital, preparing a casserole for a family having a tough time, or helping someone around the house with a small job they can’t do themselves.

Talk to our Missions Team about serving in the community and beyond

Members of Temple Baptist Church are always sharing the love of Christ through word and action in our community.  Whether preparing a hot meal at Urban Ministries or helping out a local school or working in the Yates Baptist Association Community Toy Store at Christmas, there are lots of ways you can use your God-given strengths to share the love of Christ with others.  Our Mission Team is happy to help you find the right opportunity!

Come out and eat!

The best place sometimes to build relationships and fellowship is around the dining table, and there are plenty of opportunities to share table fellowship with others at Temple.

Every Wednesday night, we offer a catered supper at 5:30 so that individuals and families have a chance to catch up with one another and with friends mid-week.

Every Tuesday morning, the ROMEOs, a men’s group, meets at Bojangles for breakfast and conversation.

Once a month, the Julliets, a women’s group, get together for lunch at a different local restaurant for fellowship.

The Solo Souls is a dinner group for individuals who want a chance to share a meal and conversation.

The Adventurous Eaters group meets once a month to try new foods and restaurants that might fall outside of the normal routines.

Finally, Adult Night Out meets one Friday night a month in the Fellowship Hall for dinner and games together.

There are always more seats at the table, so come join us!

There are plenty of other ways for adults to worship, study, serve and fellowship at Temple.  Check out our calendar of events or our newsletter to see what opportunities are coming up!
